Refund Policy

Refund Policy for Certificate & Degree Courses

Certificate and degree students can receive a refund for course load reduction on or before the final published date of the drop/add period at the beginning of each semester. See the CoA Academic Calendar. Students who drop one or more courses, thereby creating a course load reduction after the drop/add period are not eligible for any refund. Students who officially withdraw from the College before 50% of the course meetings have occurred, may receive a refund amount based on a pro rata percentage determined by dividing the number of course meeting days in the semester that the student completed by the total course meeting days in the semester. The unused portion will be refunded up to the point in time that the amount equals 50%. Students who withdraw enrollment from the institution when the calculated percentage of completion is greater than 50% are not entitled to any refund. Refund by check will be mailed within 30 days of the official action. Exceptions to the above policy may be made by the Chief Education Officer in the event of significant extenuating circumstances such as accident or illness.

Refund Policy for Lifelong Ministry Courses

Participants who submit registration fees for Lifelong Ministry courses (including fees to audit degree courses) but who are unable to attend the course as scheduled have three options:
1.  Request a refund in writing by contacting info@collegeofathens.edu.  The course registration fee will be refunded within 15 days of the date of the course minus a 10% administrative fee.
2.  Request in writing by contacting info@collegeofathens.edu to apply 100% of the fees paid to a future CoA Lifelong Ministry course.
3.  Donate the entire amount of the course registration fee to CoA and receive a charitable donation letter at the end of the calendar year.

Participants who withdraw from a course that takes place over a number of class meetings (i.e. a course series or auditing a degree course) and who have attended less than 50% of the course sessions may request one of the above-listed refund processes. However, the refund will be prorated based on the number of sessions attended.  The 10% administrative fee will be charged on the full course registration fee.

Exceptions to the Lifelong Ministry course refund policy may be made based on contractual obligations with specific course providers.  Such exceptions will be posted online with the course registration information.

Refund Policy for Payments by Credit Card

All refunds for tuition and registration fee payments made electronically by credit or debit card are subject o a 5% refund processing fee.
